International students are eligible according to the official list (the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education's 2026/27 school-students list). Admission benefits themselves vary by programme, track and admission rules.
🌍 If you are an international student: the regulations (§1.9) open the olympiad to students in grades 7–11 (12) aged up to 19, and expressly include those studying these programmes outside Russia ("за рубежом"); the main page says applications are open to students "из России и других стран". The qualifier is online, the final is in person.
🗣️ Language: the main working language is Russian, and international participants get an official English translation of the tasks and solutions (§1.10).
🏛️ About the quota: Innopolis Open is on the Ministry of Science's 2026/27 list of school olympiads (entry 17) — so a winner or prize-winner can apply for the Russian Government quota; the selection is competitive, not a guaranteed place.
What is Innopolis Open?
"Innopolis Open" (Международная олимпиада «Innopolis Open») is an international olympiad run by Innopolis University in Tatarstan for school students, in five tracks: informatics, mathematics, artificial intelligence, robotics and information security.
Each track has two stages: an online qualifier in two rounds and an in-person final. Each track also has its own registration deadline and schedule — so pick your track first, then check its dates.
⚠️ This is a school olympiad — not Innopolis University's "additional admission round", which has its own page on this site.
What do you gain?
This is a competition, and the benefits are for winners and prize-winners only. The quota is a competitive selection, not a guaranteed place, and the RSOSH level differs by track — check the level of your own track.
How to apply
Registration is per track, from its page on the university's site (checked 2 October 2026):

The five tracks
You choose your track when you register — each one has its own deadline and schedule:
Who can take part?
Up to age 19 — at schools in Russia or abroad.
Up to age 19. In informatics, robotics, information security and AI they compete as grade 10 and grade 11 respectively; in maths the groups are "grade 10 + SPO year 1" and "grade 11 (12) + SPO year 2".
The regulations (§1.9) expressly mention students of these programmes outside Russia.
The rounds are online — in informatics a webcam and screen recording are mandatory. The final is in person, so plan for travel if you qualify.

💬I go to school outside Russia — can I take part?
Yes. The regulations (§1.9) expressly mention students of these programmes outside Russia, and the main page says applications are open to students "from Russia and other countries". The condition: grades 7–11 (12), up to age 19.
💬I'm at a vocational college (SPO) — can I join?
Yes, if you are in year 1 or year 2 and up to age 19. You compete with the grade 10 group (year 1) or the grade 11 group (year 2) — in maths the groups are "grade 10 + SPO year 1" and "grade 11 (12) + SPO year 2".
💬When is the registration deadline?
There is no single deadline — each track has its own, at 15:00 Moscow time:
• Informatics: 14 October 2026, 15:00 Moscow time (for qualifying round 1)
• Mathematics: 20 October 2026, 15:00 Moscow time
• AI: 1 November 2026, 15:00 Moscow time
• Robotics: 10 November 2026, 15:00 Moscow time
• Information security: 11 November 2026, 15:00 Moscow time
💬Is it in Russian?
The main language is Russian, and the regulations (§1.10) say international participants get an official English translation of the tasks and solutions.
💬Do I have to travel to Russia?
Not for the qualifier — both rounds are online. For the final, yes — in person between February and March 2027 depending on the track; information security and AI at Innopolis University, informatics and maths at several venues you choose from.
💬Does winning guarantee me a quota place?
No. Innopolis Open is on the Ministry of Science's 2026/27 list (entry 17), which gives a winner or prize-winner the right to apply for the quota — the selection is competitive and the Ministry decides.
Everything here comes from the current track pages at dovuz.innopolis.university/innopolis-open and the 2026/27 regulations — checked live on 2 October 2026. The olympiad is competitive, and the quota is a selection, not a guaranteed place. The final reference is always your track's official page.
