Delete your account
This page is for the «أثر / Athar» app for Android (from athar.ac, RuStore and Google Play) — developer: Abdelrahman Yahya.
In the app
1. Sign in and tap your picture at the top (“Account”).
2. Choose “Delete account” — the screen explains what is deleted, what may be kept, and the timing.
3. Tick “I understand…” ⇒ “Continue to delete account” ⇒ “Delete my account”. If you last signed in more than 10 minutes ago, the app first asks for your password or Google sign-in.
4. After your request there are 7 days in which you can cancel from the same screen with “Cancel deletion”; then the deletion is carried out automatically — within 30 days of your request at most.
5. “Delete account” is also in “Your data & privacy”, and on the early-access and consent screens even before you are admitted.
Older app versions: “Your data & privacy” ⇒ “Request account deletion” (same request, same timing) — or update the app. If your version shows “Request deletion by email” instead of the button, that is the same route as below.
Without the app
Email [email protected] from the email address your account uses, with the subject “Delete my Athar account”. We confirm the request comes from the account owner, then the account and all data linked to it are permanently deleted.
What gets deleted
Your account itself: email, name and app language. It is the same account as on athar.ac, so it is removed from the website too.
The opportunities you saved.
Where these features exist in your version: your mentor profile, your conversations and messages, your posts and replies, your acceptance documents, and your journey data (stage, tracked opportunities and tasks).
What may be kept, and for how long
Security log: entries for sensitive actions (such as a deletion request and its execution, opening a verification document, or a moderation decision) linked to your account's internal ID — without the content of your messages or posts. Kept for up to 730 days for security, then deleted.
Moderation reports linked to your account are deleted with it. In general, the details of any closed report are erased 365 days after it is closed.
